DNS Recordkeeping Solutions partnered with CollectivePoint to create and release a cross-platform Android and iOS 7 version of a standards-compliant recordkeeping app known as the "Crop Data Tracker."
Many industries are governed by regulations that include requirements to keep comprehensive records. Failure to maintain compliance can lead to enforcement actions and costly fines.
In Texas, there are approximately 50,000 licensed pesticide applicators and each one of them is required by the Texas Department of Agriculture to keep detailed records each time they perform any sort of pesticide application. On top of that, this information must always be up-to-date and available to State inspectors at a moment's notice.
To help these companies stay on top of this information, DNS Recordkeeping Solutions partnered with CollectivePoint to create and release a cross-platform Android and iOS 7 version of a standards-compliant recordkeeping app known as the "Crop Data Tracker." It is currently available in both the Google and Apple app stores.
The Crop Data Tracker eliminates the burden of creating and managing state-mandated paper forms by providing pesticide applicators with an easy-to-use app that allows them to quickly and accurately create and maintain records right from their mobile devices. It also meets the standards for the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The application allows pesticide applicators to easily fill out their records on the go, right at the site, while the job is performed. Then at a later date they can "share" the information either through email or by printing out reports. This allows for more accuracy, as the data is recorded immediately out in the field, rather than being filled out on the form back at the office.
By using the Crop Data Tracker, businesses will be able to accurately record all data mandated by the Texas Department of Agriculture, including:
- Location
- Applicator Information
- Unlicensed Applicator Information
- Site Treated
- Information regarding size of site and products used
- Details of the time of application (Date/Time/Duration)
- Details of the conditions during application (temperature and wind speed)
There is also an additional information bucket for notes that might be useful if the applicator is audited.
DNS approached us after doing their due diligence and finding that there was a need for this kind of easy recordkeeping application in the industry. This process is still largely based on paper documents across the sector. While this application is designed specifically to comply with the Texas Department of Agriculture regulations, almost every state has its own set of regulations on the use of pesticides.
The Crop Data Tracker application is available now for Android and iOS platforms.
